Part Three: In Between M.Sc. and Ph.D.
My second full day in Paris was hot, like yesterday. I found the top of Montmartre; the art district; Espace Dali; ice cream; tourists; and some new friends. I’ll let pictures speak for themselves. I’ve put together a few panoramas for your enjoyment. If you click on them you can zoom in for full detail. Be warned they are several MB large, and may take a few seconds to load.
The view of Paris from on top the hill, where Montmartre resides. Click me!
La Sacre-Coeur de Paris.
From the side, it looks pretty interesting too.
I asked a French friend what this means and she said “Its not a mental healthy state to be feeling good”. Cool thoughts in the subway.
Down a little side street I found an open door, and I poked my head in to find there was a quiet indie art exhibt going on. They were pretty interest people. Taking these timer pics is always tricky when you have to find somewhere to balance your camera then run back to be in it. Hence my awkward pose. In the picture: Frederique, Oriane, and me.
Lot’s of this going on up there.
Market near India’s place. My first conversation today in French was with this guy who said he didn’t want his picture taken. I said I’d give him money, and he laughed and said it’s okay and gave me some fruit for free!
Sort of snuck into a house. Found it was a house of artists. Here’s some golden ratio imagery for you!
Last night, at the suggestion of a friend who wondered if I could see the same moon in Paris that they were seeing, I took a walk to grab this pic. It really was pretty wasn’t it? This moon signals the end of Ramadan by the way. Call the the art shot of the day.
