Cultural Spring

Spring is around the corner and so are a variety of cultural events in Leiden. No matter if you like music, food, poetry or late night exhibitions – read below what the upcoming months will have on offer.

Poetry & Tea: Open Stage for English-Language Poetry (March 17th)

A Sunday well spent brings a week full of content: Do you love writing poetry but have never performed it in front of an audience? Or, do you simply enjoy listening and getting inspired by talented writers? This Sunday, INDEX Poetry Books is hosting an afternoon filled with art, tea and cakes. Among the guests will be the British poet Ross Gowland already published in the Poetry Salzburg Magazine! Check out the facebook event for more information.

ISN Cultural Festival (May 11th)

Since 2007, the International Student Network (ISN) has been inviting us for a day of celebrating cultural diversity. Also this year, thousands of students and locals are expected to experience music, dance, cuisine and traditions from various countries at Leiden’s biggest cultural event of the year. Held in Scheltema, it offers a variety of fun activities from exhibitions and student performances up until tastings and interactive workshops. Check out the facebook event for more information.

11th Museum Night Leiden: The night with a touch of gold (May 18th)

Organized by students for everyone: Also this Spring, ten of Leiden’s museums will open their doors for you after hours. Starting off at Beestenmarkt, your ticket will give you access to all of the fantastic collections. Together with thousands of other curious visitors, you will be guided by an illuminated night trail. To end with a bang, there will be an after party at the end of the night. Check out the webpage, Facebook and Instagram for the full program and updates.
