A Place to Visit: Leiden Christmas Market

The other day, I was a bit bored with studies. I texted my friends for lunch and they told me that they were about to take off for the Christmas Market. As a Christmas Market adventurer, of course, I seized this opportunity to run away from the library.

I must tell you that Leiden Christmas Market offers more than you expect. There are lots of stalls where you can find different gifts for your friends. Take your glühwein and start looking for the perfect Christmas gifts.

Leiden Christmas Market offers also a skater rink where you can test your skills on ice after finishing your tour. Be aware, there is a reason why Dutch are so successful at ice-skating. Do not try to compete against them! After spending lots of energy on the ice, you should definitely go and taste the delicious food Leiden Christmas Market offers. At this point I must confess that, Christmas markets are more about the food to me. That’s why Leiden Christmas Market was an amazing place for me. Here, you have lots of delicious options from steak burgers to tornado potatoes, pannenkoek to bratwurst. However, my biggest advice for you here is the cocobollen! It was the very first time that I had cocobollen and I loved it! If you like it, I would say you should definitely go for the red velvet ones.

You took the tour, had your glühwein and delicious food; now it is time to sit down and have a chat with your friends while watching kids are walking around in their costumes and singing carols. Enjoy the Leiden Christmas Market!
